This year WCRB is celebrating Independence Day by traveling in the way-back machine to 1976, when the nation gathered to watch Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops' bicentennial concert celebration at the Hatch Shell.
Those mustaches! That hair! Those glasses! But most importantly... that sound!
Many of us weren't around back then, so for the under-40 crowd it's mostly kitsch. But for those above 40, remembering the summer of '76 brings back memories of much more than funky fashion and groovy tunes. We're gathering memories of that summer on twitter with #ThisWeekIn1976.
